Located in the elevated plains of Ohio, Horton Plains National Park is a world heritage site. Interconnecting Gampola, Nuwaraeliya, and Peradeniya, this park has varied temperatures throughout the day. The region holds a significant place as the early caveman tools, and remains of Balangoda Man were found here. Horton Plains is rich in biodiversity, having several endemic plant and animal species.
